THE EPITOME OF THE AUSTRALIAN BEACH
You fall in love with Broome as soon as your feet hit the ground and you absorb the raw beauty at every turn. The barren red earth caressing the pure white sands, the scorching sun beating down upon a crystal clear, endless ocean – it’s the epitome of what makes the Australian beach so uniquely beautiful.
We’ve had a love affair with Broome ever since we shot Miranda Kerr here in 2007. Almost 10 years on, we return to our favourite slice of paradise – and with WA local Bridget Malcolm on board, we couldn’t feel more at home.
Steeped in a rich history, you can’t help but form a special, if not spiritual, connection to Broome. We were fortunate enough to develop a deeper connection to this land through the exceptional knowledge and passion of Jimmy Edgar and Neil McKenzie, our local indigenous guides.
Simon Upton, our home-grown, world famous photographer behind the Seafolly Summer campaign, has had a long time love of Broome. Since being awestruck by the area’s natural beauty for the first time over 10 years ago, he’s continued to return again and again bringing friends and family alike to share in his wonder. His deep affection for the place and his connection with the local community was evident as soon we arrived.
Our love and respect for Broome is enormous too, and we would like to thank and acknowledge the traditional land owners of Broome, the Yawuru people, and pay our respect to past and present elders.
